Letters to The Canberra Times 17 May 2003.

From Geraldine Walters of Kaleen:

"The ludicrous situation of having Sir Guy Green and his wife, Lady Rosslyn (sic), share the residence at Yarralumla whilst Peter Hollingworth’s case is being investigated is nothing short of being viewed as the country’s number one embarrassment.

Sir Guy Green, who was sworn in as the G-G by our High Court Justice Dyson Heydon, has to endure an uncertain future which will linger on for months, while he and his wife live under the same roof as the Hollingworths.

John Howard should erase this debacle by removing Hollingworth from the office of G-G due to the problem having become untenable.

The blatantly obvious choice surely is Sir Guy Green, who has already been sworn in and is our most senior of state governors.

Australia must already be seen as a joke within the circles of the Commonwealth and various other nations.

Maybe next time a selection board should appoint our Governor-General, being careful to separate religion from politics.

From Gaynor Morgan of Braddon:

If Dr Hollingworth and Sir Guy Green are sharing Yarralumla (official residence) "Big Brother" style, can we vote to get one of them evicted?
