WHO ARE WE? WE ARE REPUBLICANS WHO WILL VOTE YES!
We want a Republic and we want more to follow the vote:
Some of us want further debate on a range of Constitutional matters
Some of us want to participate more in electing the President
Some of us want a Bill of Rights
Some of us want to limit the powers of presidents and politicians
BUT - ALL of us will vote YES ON NOVEMBER 6th.
WITHOUT A YES VOTE WE CAN'T EVEN START TO CHANGE
WE HAVE A CHOICE; Waste the opportunity - and stall the process by voting NO
OR
VOTE YES and light the flame for an Australian Republic - A VOTE FOR A REPUBLIC MEANS, BY LAW, THERE WILL BE ANOTHER PEOPLE'S CONVENTION IN 3 to 5 YEARS' TIME
The agenda for this Convention would review the operation and effectiveness of any republican system of government introduced by the November referendum and address other matters related to our system of government under republican arrangements, including:
The Constitutional Convention of 1998 also resolved that the next Convention be preceded by an extensive and properly funded community consultation process. This would commence within 12 months of the passage of a referendum to establish a republic, in which ideas and responses to the above matters would be actively sought by the Government and the Parliament. This process was proposed by the Constitutional Convention and adopted by the parliament.
ONLY A YES VOTE WILL START FURTHER REFORM
